Poetry Submission: ‘Early Morning, Almost Night’

Written by Story Pennock

Early Morning, Almost Night

The moon rests, in nearly pregnant glory

Its stark greys and white of untold celestial life

Pour into the sky - pooling with a meek sigh

Becoming clouds of mink fur

Greys of hushed lullabyes

Its bleeding face glooms

For all the months of empty wombs

Starless, loveless in that great taut blue blur

Its solitude and peaceful anguish

tells an all too common story
